At our last seminar in Italy, Mr. Albert Timen told all of the students whilst they were in the middle of knife fighting training, to stop and do push ups.

Then he told them about the ñ Test ñ one of our instructors called Massimo smiled and said ìso we failed?

In the morning, Gideon by God's command called his ten thousand men out, and made them march down the hill, just as though they were going to attack the enemy. And when they were beside the water, he noticed how they drank; and set them apart in two companies, according to the way they were drinking.

As they came to the water, most of the men threw aside their shields and spears, and knelt down, scooped up a drink of the water with both hands together like a cup. These men Gideon commanded, to stand in one company.

There were a few men who did not stop to take a large drink of water. Holding a spear and a shield in the right hand, they were ready for the enemy, if one should suddenly appear. They merely cupped up a handful of the water in passing and marched on, lapping up the water from one hand.

God said to Gideon, "Set by themselves these men who lapped up each a handful of water. These are the men whom I have chosen to set Israel free."

Gideon counted these men, and found that there were only three hundred of them; while all the rest bowed down their faces to drink. The difference between them was that these three hundred were earnest men, of one purpose; not turning aside from their aim, even to drink, as the others did. Then, too, there were (225) watchful men, always ready to meet their enemies. Suppose that the Midianites had rushed out on the army, while nearly all of them had their faces towards the water drinking, their arms thrown to one side, - how helpless they would have been! But no enemy could have surprised the three hundred, who held their spears and shields ready, even while they were taking a drink.

Some have thought that this test also showed who worshippers of idols were, and who worshipped God; for men fell on their faces when they prayed to the idols, but men stood up while they worshipped the Lord. Perhaps this act showed that most of the army were used to kneeling down to worship before idols, and that only a few used to stand up before the Lord in their worship; but of this we are not certain. It did show that there were three hundred brave, watchful men, obedient to orders, and ready for the battle.

As we wrote before about finding the right Instructor, we at the Kapap Academy also think that it is about finding the right students. A few years ago, we opened our door for the first time to the civilian market ñ as before, the KAPAP system was taught only to military and police personnel. As the first step, we opened a course called KAPAP Level 1 InstructorsÆ and it was a full 5 days based training, we see this level as a big interview to the students. This is because, as we read the CVís of the students, it may have said that they had 20 years of experience, ranks and ìExpert ì level and this is not what we saw on the mat, what we saw was, really very poor martial artist skills and that they had bought their certificates and ranks from the internet.

Most of them had been based on 3 basic moves with lots of FU, FU, FU, calls and a lot of choreography, but at the end, none of them could fight. Most of them did not know how to put on basic chokes, kicks and so onÖ this is in every traditional martial art after 4 months of studying. How could this be, as they all had ìExpertî certificates from some modern martial arts ñ Krav Maga civilians organizations - that claim on their DVD``s they are not traditional martial arts ñ they are None nonsense martial artÖ so we Must say that they are full of Nonsense and Not more.

As we close the year of 2006, we at Kapap Academy decided to close back the doors and choose our Gideon Instructors and find the right Instructors to keep going with the KAPAP system and not those with an ego. We are going to cut more than 95 % of the Level 1 InstructorsÆ and they cannot teach Kapap, as they will not have qualified for a teaching license, as they failed at the Gideon test.

We do not welcome Krav Maga civilians ìWant To beì students and Instructors into our door as we all know martial arts start with the right education and the right attitude.

All of those battle tested systems ñìwant to beì which did they take part in? In Beverly Hills or Paris? Led mostly by the one that had been in Israeli Communication and Electronics unit or military driver - Which of those Krav Maga civilian organizations that has nothing to do with the ìOfficialì had a fight in his life?

Dressing in military uniform doesnít make you a solider, if you call a dogs tail a leg it doesnít make him have 5 legs itís still a tail!

Why, since KAPAP has came out to the civilian market, suddenly Krav Maga is coming up with new techniques and training ideas that was shown only on the Kapap DVDís i.e. pool and water training and much more?

As we know Titanic was build by ìEXPERTSî while Noahís Arc was not ñ Thatís Why Krav Maga has Expert Level.

Sorry but KAPAP is a Quality system Not a Quantity system ñ Mc-Krav system.

And since itís a family for us we will keep control of who comes into the Kapap family.

Itís very funny to see how many new grand masters popped up from the Israeli martial arts in the last year which have taken Level 1 with us and suddenly, techniques that were first show in the KAPAP DVDís have now become part of their system!!!!!!

As we start Kapap in Europe ñ Sam told me we will continue in the right way, even if I have to drive a truck to pay the bills, but we will teach Kapap thatís the attitude we want ñ to put your sole with what you do, not to try to fill your pocket using the marketing names you know nothing about, and where they come from and what they represent using some celebrities like Madonna who studies now ìKabalaì and Krav Maga, lets see Madonna keep doing it if the Nazi days come back,Ö. thatís Israeli Martial Art. Kapap is not done to be cool it is done in a fight for life.
